Team PP is packing up and moving to Edinburgh for the Festival Fringe and we are looking for a team of hard working theatre lovers to help us deliver a packed programme of shows in our beautiful pop-up theatre Roundabout. Once again this August Roundabout will be in the courtyard of Edinburgh’s Summerhall housing a season of extraordinary work in a thrilling 360-degree setting.

Roundabout will host more than 200 performances over 26 days with over 30,000 available tickets for 300 hours of theatre ranging from world premieres to international award winners. Roundabout is the place to be at EdFringe 2018. You can see all 11 shows in our bumper programme here.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking people who are engaged, open and fans of new writing to join our Festival Team and work across two roles for the duration of the festival. These are:

  • Visitor Services
  • Street Team

Working in the Festival Team is flexible so would suit students living in Edinburgh, anyone who might be working on their own shows at the fringe – whatever brings you to the festival we want to hear from you. We strongly encourage all team members to see as much as possible whilst at the festival, and offer shifts at varying times to allow this.

“You really are the loveliest venue at the fringe. You enhanced my fringe experience, my shifts were good and being given different timed shifts made it great to see all shows over the month…You just create a really relaxed and friendly environment, which is so productive in enhancing an audiences experience. I’d recommend you to anyone wanting to work for a company at fringe next year.”  Natasha Ravenscroft, Festival Team member 2017

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The venue is open to the public 1-26 August inclusive. Shift lengths will be between 4 and 5 hours, and will be available between 10:30am and 1am each day, depending on your position and availability. You can expect to work no more than six shifts a week during this period as dictated by our rota.

You will be paid an hourly rate of £7.83.

Additional benefits of working as part of Paines Plough’s Festival Team include:

  • Training from Paines Plough and Summerhall’s dedicated and experienced Fringe team to perform your role to the best of your ability.
  • A Summerhall Pass, which permits the holder free entry to all shows in the Summerhall programme, provided they’re not sold out. This gives access to over 140 shows.
  • Free playtexts for all of the Paines Plough Roundabout plays.
  • An end of run party with us so you can celebrate your achievements together before finishing for the season.

“Summerhall’s 2017 programme was as eclectic and invigorating as we’ve come to expect over the past few years, and nowhere more so than in the Paines Plough Roundabout; it’s not just one of the fringe’s most exciting venues, but one of Britain’s.” The Stage

“Paines Plough’s travelling Roundabout Auditorium is probably the loveliest venue at the Fringe.” The List

“Summerhall has effectively rewired the Fringe, becoming home to some of the most exciting work at the festival.” The Stage
